The Dehati Foundation is making headlines again. Phase 2 of our 500 Saplings, 500 Hopes tree plantation drive — held on Kargil Vijay Diwas — has been featured by leading regional newspapers including Dainik Bhaskar, Patrika and Navdunia, spotlighting a living tribute to our brave soldiers in rural Madhya Pradesh.
What the newspapers reported
The coverage highlights Phase 2 of the drive at village Lalakhedi in Sehore district. On Kargil Vijay Diwas, members of The Dehati Foundation, former servicemen and village leaders planted 60 fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings. Together with Phase 1, the campaign has now planted 121 saplings toward its goal of 500. As one report put it: every tree is a tribute to the brave martyrs of the nation.

About the Kargil Vijay Diwas drive
Ex-servicemen, including Hukam Singh (President of the Former Servicemen Organisation), joined Foundation members and local leaders such as Patel Bhawani Shankar (Sarpanch representative of Lalakhedi Panchayat). Participants planted fruit and shade trees and pledged to care for them regularly — so the tribute keeps growing long after the day of remembrance. The drive links environmental conservation with honour for the soldiers who protect the nation.
